Auprès

Terms of Service

Last updated: 7 July 2026

What changed in this update: we added the Subscriptions & billing section and updated the names of our AI providers.

By using Auprès you agree to these terms. They’re short on purpose.

What Auprès is

Auprès is an AI companion app for everyday questions and life organisation. Avalon Design Studio, Inc. (“we”, “us”) provides it.

Not medical, legal, or financial advice

Auprès can talk about health, money, and the law in general terms. It is not a substitute for a doctor, lawyer, or financial professional. For anything serious or specific to your situation, check with the appropriate professional. We design Auprès to remind you of this when those topics come up, but the reminder isn’t a substitute for your own judgement.

Your account

What you put in

You keep ownership of everything you write or upload. By using Auprès you give us a narrow license to store and process it so we can show it back to you, sync it across your devices, and pass it to our AI providers (Mistral for answers, and OpenAI for the similarity search that finds your past conversations — see our Privacy Policy for the full list) to generate answers. That license ends when you delete the content (or your account).

Don’t use Auprès to do anything illegal, harassing, hateful, or that violates someone else’s rights. Don’t upload content you don’t have the right to share. We may suspend accounts that do.

Acceptable use

Auprès is built to be a calm, considered helper for everyday personal questions — health context, household decisions, recipes, life organisation. It’s not built for the kinds of workloads other AI tools are designed around. Specifically, please don’t use Auprès for:

Fair-use limits

To keep the service available to everyone at a sustainable cost, every account has a limit on how many messages can be sent in a rolling time window. The current limits are visible in Settings → Usage and adjust as we add paid tiers. If you hit the limit, the input pauses and shows you when it resets — usually a few hours. Background work Auprès does for you on its own (writing chat summaries, learning stable facts) does not count against your limit.

We reserve the right to adjust limits with notice. We won’t narrow limits on existing paid tiers without giving subscribers a way out (refund or grandfather).

Subscriptions & billing

Some parts of Auprès require a paid subscription. Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment provider — your card details go to Stripe directly and never touch our servers.

What we provide (and don’t)

We work hard to keep Auprès running, but we can’t promise it will always be available, that answers will always be right, or that the service will fit every purpose. The app is provided “as is” — to the extent the law allows.

We’re not liable for indirect or consequential damages flowing from your use of Auprès. For anything we are liable for, our total responsibility to you for any twelve-month period is capped at the amount you paid us during that period (or $50, whichever is larger).

Changes

We may update these terms. If we change them materially, we’ll email signed-in users at least thirty days before the change. Continuing to use Auprès after that means you accept the update.

Where this lives

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, USA (where Avalon Design Studio, Inc. is registered). Any dispute not resolved informally goes to the state or federal courts in Tennessee.
